    When listening to the owners of the planned building, we realized that their description of wishes resembled the private house of P. Stradiņš on Ventspils Street. The guess about the source of inspiration was correct—and not too difficult—since both houses are located nearby and their owners are united by the medical profession. Although the shape and character of the building were mainly determined by other factors—such as the views from the windows, the functional layout of the rooms, and compliance with building regulations on the small plot—we also kept the above-mentioned fact in mind throughout the design process.
