The apartment is located in a functionalist building built in 1936. In general, the original layout has been preserved, modifications being made only in the kitchen and bathroom area. The existing bathroom has been expanded to have windows providing daylight, while the kitchen has been connected within the dining room in order to obtain more space for other facilities.
Where possible, the original joinery details have been preserved. The overall ambiance in the apartment is light and easy. The dominant white surfaces are combined with bleached oak textures while other natural materials such as copper, brass and linen are used as accents.
Custom made furniture plays a significant role in this interior. The furniture design was inspired both by Latvian functionalist architecture of the time and by the existing elements found within the apartment itself.
The apartment was featured in the February 2023 issue of Deko magazine.
